Jason R. "Jake" Ohler, age 40, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, died in his home suddenly on Thursday morning, March 23, 2017.
He was born December 4, 1976 in Dover, Ohio and was the son of Richard D. Ohler, with whom he resided, and the late Nora Lynn Patrick Ohler.
Jake was employed as a truck driver for the W. A. Wilson Glass Company at Wheeling, West Virginia. He enjoyed being outdoors and liked to spend his spare time fishing and going boating. He delighted in cooking on the outdoor grill and was a classic car enthusiast. But the center of his focus was always his children, whom he loved very much. He was a loving and caring son and father who will be forever remembered by his family and many friends.
In addition to his father Richard Ohler, he is survived by his four children Clayton P. Henline-Sanderson of New Philadelphia, Jenna R. Ohler, Mason R. Ohler, and Olivia N. Ohler, all of Mineral City, O., his ex-wife, Amy B. Henline Ohler of Mineral City, his paternal grandmother Joann Nelson of New Zoarville, O., his maternal grandfather Wiley Patrick of Leavittsville, O., a number of aunts, uncles and cousins, and a special friend Ruth Keith of Mineral City.
Calling hours will be held Monday, March 27, 2017 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the German Cemetery in Mineral City with Rev. Ben Overton officiating. Interment of his ashes will follow services.
