Marian L. Imes

Marian L. Imes, age 83, a North Church Street, Sherrodsville, Ohio resident, went home to be with her Lord  Thursday afternoon, January 14, 2016 in Bowerston Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Bowerston.

She was born April 9, 1932 in Freeport, Ohio and was the daughter of  the late Bryan  W.B. and Lula Kirk Phillips.  Her husband, Ellis W. Imes, whom she married January 27, 1956, died June 6, 2002.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Although she was primarily a homemaker, she retired as a nurse's aide from what is currently the Bowerston Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after 23 years of service. Marian graduated from the former Freeport High School in 1950. She was a faithful member of the Calvary United Methodist Church at Sherrodsville. She was fond of spending time playing computer games and watching television.  One of her favorite indulgences was watching Ohio State basketball games on television.  For many years, she, along with her family enjoyed camping at Atwood Lake. 

She is survived by a daughter and two sons  Mrs. Wayne (Sandy) Carter of St. Augustine, Florida, William H. (Valinda) Imes and Rich Imes, both of Sherrodsville,  a sister, Mabel Rummell of Newcomerstown, O., a brother, Roy (Janice) Phillips of Granville, O., a  brother-in-law George (Brenda) Imes of Massillon, O., her five grandchildren Mrs. Joe (Carolyn) Segura of Beaufort, South Carolina, Mrs. Chase (Sarah) Rideman of St. Augustine, Florida, Paula Jo Imes of Newcomerstown,  Mrs. Trustin (Barbie) McDonald of Tidioute, Pennsylvania, and Cory Imes of Sherrodsville, six great-grandchildren Miguel and Kylee Segura, Isla Rideman, Elliott Anderson and  Carter and Layla McDonald, and a  number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 19, 2016 in the Calvary United Methodist Church  at Sherrodsville with  Rev. Kenneth Ogg officiating.  Interment will follow in the Leavittsville Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday  from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at  Sherrodsville.
