Wilfred E. "Bill" Fowler, age 77, of Sherrodsville, Ohio, passed away suddenly early Tuesday morning, November 9, 2010 in the Hennis Care Center at Bolivar.
He was born March 9, 1933 in Coshocton, Ohio and was the son of the late Jeremiah Edgar and Annabell Lee Weisman Fowler.
Bill, as a young man growing up in Coshocton County, attended Plainfield Elementary School and then Coshocton High School where he played football all four years. After graduation, he went on to Ohio University and the Ohio State University majoring in Business Management. He continued to play football in college where he played under the guidance of Coach Woody Hayes. On May 6th, 1955, Bill married the love of his life, Elaine (Donley) Kovacik, who survives him, and lives in their Sherrodsville home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, Floyd Richard Fowler of Massillon, Ohio, two sons Pete Kovacik of Scio, Ohio and James Fowler of Sherrodsville, and his daughter Elizabeth (Fowler) Rainsberger also of Sherrodsville. His grandchildren include Roshelle and Jeremiah Fowler, both of Sherrodsville, David Rainsberger of Carrollton, Ohio, Billy Kovacik of Scio, and Jason Kovacik of Red House, West Virginia.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be observed. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville handled the arrangements, and online condolence messages for the family may be placed on the funeral home website.
