Timothy Scott Stearns

Timothy S. Stearns, age 76, of Sedona, Arizona, and a former Sherrodsville area resident, died December 30, 2024 in his residence following a long illness.

He was born October 19, 1948 in Canton, Ohio, and was the son of the late Lester L. And Grace (Huffman) Stearns.

Tim grew up in Sherrodsville where he lived until he joined the Navy in 1966.  There, he became a Navy Scuba Diver and served until 1970.  He was a 1966 graduate of Conotton Valley High School and attended the University of Akron.  He eventually moved from Sherrodsville to Sedona, Arizona where he worked for a storage unit facility.

Survivors include his sister Georgia L. Marshall of New Philadelphia, OH and her family, and a step-sister and a step-brother and their respective families.  

Cremation has taken place in Arizona and his ashes will be interred in the Leavittsville Cemetery at a later date.  The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville is assisting with local arrangements.  To leave an online condolence message, please visit the funeral home website.
