Shirley Anne Lucas, age 84, of Carrollton, Ohio, died Wednesday afternoon, August 20, 2025 in the Aultman Hospital at Canton.
She was born February 15, 1941 in Perrysville, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lucille (Clarke) Stevens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Stevens and a sister Barbara C. Stewart.
She retired in 2004 as the assistant school treasurer for the Carrollton Exempted Village School District after 25 years of service. She was a longtime caregiver and companion for her sister Anita. Shirley was quite computer literate and liked to spend time engaged online.
She is survived by a son, Gregory A. Lucas of Bergholz, OH, two daughters, Mrs. Sheri (Scott) Shortland of Carrollton and Mrs. Lisa (Keith) Tipping of Jonesville, Michigan, eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, a bother Richard (Jeannie) Stevens of Carrollton, four sisters Ellen Sexton of Pattersonville, OH, and Anita Stevens, Linda Brown, and Mrs. Judy (Leroy) Van Horne, all of Carrollton.
In accordance with Shirley's personal wishes, she will be cremated and no formal services will be observed. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home in Sherrodsville has been entrusted with her arrangements. To leave an online condolence message please visit the funeral home website.
