Shirley A. Smalley

Shirley A. Smalley, age 89, of  Leesville, Ohio, passed away Wednesday morning,  December 11, 2024 in  the Sunnyslope Nursing Home at Bowerston.

She was born November 6, 1935 in Carrollton, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Harry and Rosemond (Kincade) Leggett.  Her husband, Donald James Smalley, whom she married April 4, 1954, passed away on December 22, 1975. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson Joshua Ferguson, five brothers and three sisters.

Shirley always enjoyed walking and reading a good book.  She will always be remembered by her smiling face, her general kindness, and the love she possessed for her children. 

She is survived by her four children  Richard J. Smalley of Dennison, OH, Mrs. Patricia L.  (Curtis) Ferguson of Leesville, Douglas L. Smalley of Westerville, OH, and Ronald R. Smalley of Leesville, and her four granddaughters  Danielle, Delaney, and Lindsay Smalley and Kayla Ferguson.

In accordance with Shirley's specific wishes, no public funeral services will be observed.  Private interment will take place in the Leesville Cemetery.
