Russell F. Brannon

Russell F. Brannon, age 84, of  Mineral City, Ohio (New Cumberland),  died peacefully in his home Tuesday, December 8, 2015.

He was born January 6, 1931 in Carroll County, Ohio and was the son of the late Roma and Ocie Ickes Brannon . His wife, Yvonne Alsept Brannon, whom he married July 24, 1954, died on September 29, 2006. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers  Dale and Roger Brannon, and two sisters Clairmont Shuman and  Marge Shuman.

He retired from the former Kopp Clay Company after 30 years of service as a bricklayer/mason.  Russell was very devoted to his family. He appreciated gatherings in his home to share meals with his family and spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by a daughter Brenda Carroll of New Cumberland and  a son Frank (Carrie) Brannon of New Philadelphia, O., three grandchildren Tommy Carroll Jr. of New Philadelphia, Joshua Carroll of New Cumberland, and Madison Brannon of New Philadelphia, four great-grandchildren, his three brothers Ray (Wanda) Brannon of Dellroy, O.,  Bob (Esther) Brannon of Carrollton, O.,  and Larry Brannon of New Cumberland, and his sister, Karen Levengood of Mineral City, O.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Friday, December 11, 2015  from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville. A private graveside service will be conducted Saturday in the New Cumberland Cemetery with Chaplain Lyn Houze officiating.
