Richard E. "Rick" Karr
Obituary
Richard E. "Rick" Karr passed away to be with the Lord comfortably in his home in the company of his devoted wife Nancy (Hicok) Karr in Dellroy, Ohio, late Saturday afternoon, August 5, 2023 at the age of 74.
He was born March 14, 1949 in San Francisco, California. He has two sons, Bill (Kristi) Thompson of Great Falls, Montana and Bob (Deanna) Marsh of Bakersfield, California, whom he claimed as his own sons since 1991. Also surviving are a brother, Don (Jean) Karr of Lima, Ohio and a sister, Danielle Gann-Lind of Reno, Nevada. One person in Richard's life that must be acknowledged with much love is a special lady, his Aunt Liz Stapleton of Canton, Ohio who has been a constant in our lives and has been included in so many of our treasured memories.
Richard was very proud that he served in the U.S. Army, even if only for a short time. It has been part of his identity for his entire life. He took every opportunity to gratefully acknowledge everyone who served this wonderful country.
As a husband and best friend, Nancy acknowledges that she could not have asked for a better companion in this life. Richard always had an amazing sense of humor which is evidenced by the friends and family who love him and will miss him so much.
A family graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Friday, August 11, 2023 in the Sherrodsville Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Scott Welch with assistance from Richard's son, Bill Thompson. Interment will follow services. Attendees are invited to gather for the formation of the funeral procession on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 12:15 P.M. until 12:45 P.M. at the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home, 7345 Roswell Road S.W., Sherrodsville, Ohio.
