Randal T. Birch, age 68, of Dellroy, and formerly of Waterford, Ohio, died Monday, September 23, 2024 in the Minerva Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center following complications of a stroke suffered three years ago.
He was born March 25, 1956 in Marietta, Ohio and was the son of Joyce Odessa (Wallace) Birch of Marietta, Ohio and the late Thomas E. Birch. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Paula Jean Roe.
He was a 1974 graduate of Waterford High School and the Joint Vocational School in Washington County, Ohio. He was a general laborer who loved farming, particularly working with the goats and pigs. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Virginia L. "Gin" (Slater) Birch, whom he married June 26, 1982, two daughters Tabitha "Tabby" (Brent) Birch and DeEtte (Jeff) Vrsan, two very special grandchildren Emma Vrsan and Jimmy Vrsan, a step-grandson Brayden Barrick, several nieces and nephews, four brothers- in- law and a sister-in-law.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 27, 2024 in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Mr. Tom Brothers officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Valley Cemetery near Dellroy. Calling hours will be held Friday from 12:00 Noon until time of services at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home. To honor his memory, the family requests that anyone in attendance wear your favorite jeans, hats, or boots.
