Mildred L. Eick

Mildred L. Eick, age 91, of  Sherrodsville, Ohio, died  Saturday, December 12, 2015 in  the Carroll Golden Age Retreat at Carrollton.

She was born May 31, 1924 in Sherrodsville  and was the daughter of the late Oliver Milo and Cleda Moreland Eick.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Marie Carmin, a nephew Herbert Guenzler, and two brothers-in-law Erle Carmin and Lee Guenzler.

She was a member of the former Bethesda Lutheran Church at Sherrodsville where she participated as a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School superintendent,  and was a member and former president of the church council.   In her quieter moments, she loved to sew and create handmade quilts.  Over the years, she fashioned many handmade gifts for her family. Mildred was a 1941 graduate of the former Sherrodsville High School.

She is survived by three sisters, Norma J. Eick  and Olive A. Eick, both of Sherrodsville, and Mrs. Pearl Guenzler of Union Grove, Wisconsin. Also surviving are a niece Denise Weaver of Northville, Michigan, and two nephews Oliver Guenzler of Sherrodsville and Calvin Guenzler of Waterford, Wisconsin. A number of great-nieces and great nephews completes the family. 

Private Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 15, 2015  in the  Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Rev. Milo Baker officiating.  Interment will follow in the Zion Cemetery near Sherrodsville.  There are no calling hours scheduled.  To leave an online condolence message please visit the funeral home website.
