Marvin C. "Marv" Herbert, Sr.

Marvin C. "Marv" Herbert, Sr. age 73, of Sherrodsville, Ohio, died early Sunday morning, October 15, 2023 in his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born November 24, 1949 in Dennison, Ohio and was the son of the late Edgar Eli Herbert Sr. and Marie T. (DeLion) Herbert.  

A member of the Operating Engineers for 21 years, he retired from the former Rocking H Enterprises and was employed at  the former Bill Hawk, Inc. for 29 years. His primary interest was the activities that involved his family. He was also fond of fishing and auto body repair and painting. 

He is survived by his wife Charlene K. (Hawley) Herbert, whom he married November 23, 1968,  a daughter, Mrs. Michelle R. (John) Custer and a son Marvin C. Herbert, Jr., both of Sherrodsville,  two brothers, Samuel (JoAnn) Herbert of Sebring, OH, and Edgar E. (Terasa) Herbert Jr. of Bowerston, OH, three sisters,  Mrs. Carol S. (Bill) Host, and  Mrs. Toni M. (Jerry) Rippeth, both of Bowerston, and  Mrs. Darla (Mitch) Edie of Uhrichsville, OH,  his four grandchildren, Desiree Kelley of Uhrichsville, OH, Mrs. Amanda (Bruce) Ferguson of Carrollton, OH, and Dylan (Elizabeth) Lambros, and Joshua E. (Michala) Herbert, both of Sherrodsville, and 12 great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, October 21, 2023 in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Minister Matt Lemmon officiating. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville has been entrusted with arrangements.
