Lloyd E. "Ed" Eick

Lloyd E.  "Ed"  Eick, age 69, of  Converse, Texas, died Monday, November 22, 2010 in  his home.
He was born Tuesday, December 10, 1940 in Sherrodsville, Ohio and was the son of Helen Coultrap Eick who resides in Dover, O., and the late Lloyd Winford Eick who died May 13, 1994.
He owned and operated Kiddie Care Preschool and Daycare in McAllen, Texas from 1984 until 1996.  He had also operated several other small businesses.  Ed was a U.S. Air force Veteran who served from 1959 until 1971.  He was a 1959 graduate of Conotton Valley High School and attended the University of Colorado.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was passionate about participating in activities outdoors.  He enthusiastically pursued his hobby of collecting arrowheads along the Rio Grande River and Falcon Lake.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters and a son, Mrs. Don (Tonya A.) Croft of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mrs. Chris (Aimee A.) Turney of Lee's Summit, Missouri and  Edward R. (Macaila) Eick of Rochester, Minnesota,  his ex-wife Karen Eick and her son Sonny Martinez of Converse, Texas, two brothers and two sisters Richard D. (Cheryl) Eick of Strasburg, O., Robert  L. Eick of Carrollton, O.,  Mrs. Frank (Carol J.) Mough of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and Mrs. Terry (Barbara Ann) Bell of Anaheim, California.  Six grandchildren and three step-grandchildren complete the family.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 29, 2010 in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Rev. Jerralyn Myers officiating.  Interment will follow in the Leesville Cemetery  where the combined units of the Carroll County American Legion, V.F.W., and  D.A.V. will perform military graveside services. Calling hours will be held Monday from 11:00 A.M. until time of services in the funeral home.
