Linda N. McCartney

Linda N. McCartney, age 86,  formerly of rural Dennison, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday afternoon,  August 17, 2025 in Ohio's LifeCare Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia following a brief illness.

She was born September 1, 1938 in Leesville, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Howard and Arlene (Creager) Wood.  

Linda was primarily a homemaker for most of her life.  A woman of strong compassion, she attempted to help others as a benefactor or assist people with catastrophic illnesses. 

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Duane) Dungee of Uhrichsville, OH and a son, Greg McCartney of South Point, OH,  two granddaughters  Mrs. Ashlea (Kevin) Ward of Dover, OH and Angel McCartney of Lexington, KY,  a grandson, Tommie Dean McCartney of South Point, her great-grandchildren Camilla and Poppy,  a brother, Robert Wood of Millersburg, OH and two sisters, Mrs. Bonnie (Larry) Baxter of Uhrichsville, and Sandra Beckley of New Philadelphia, OH.

No public services or calling hours will be observed. Following a private visitation, interment will take place in the Sherrodsville Memorial Gardens on Thursday, August 21, 2025. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville has been entrusted with arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Linda's memory may be made to the New Dawn Health Care Center Activities Fund,  865 East Iron Avenue, Dover, Ohio  44622.
