Roy and Linda Dessecker - "Together Again"

Linda S. Dessecker, age 79,  of  New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away peacefully late Tuesday night, October 19, 2021 in her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born September 22, 1942 in Dover, Ohio and was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Alesiano) Korns.  Her husband Roy W. Dessecker, whom she married January 25, 1964, died on July 5, 2016. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Kenneth Korns, a sister Sandra Hisrich, and a daughter-in-law Pam Dessecker.
Linda was an active and faithful member of  the Holmes United Methodist Church.  She was a retired employee of the Schoenbrunn Health Care Center at New Philadelphia where she worked in both the housekeeping and laundry departments. She was a 1960 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. She was a talented and accomplished painter. She loved to apply her craft painting portraits and landscapes in oils.  When she was younger, she also played the guitar. Additionally, she also spent time sewing, knitting, and in her quiet hours, reading her Bible. She was a fan of the Hallmark Channel on television and had a soft spot for her animal friends.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed by her family and her church friends.

She is survived by her two sons, Thad A. Dessecker (companion Mari Simpson) and Todd (Stacey) Dessecker, all of New Philadelphia, a granddaughter  Mrs. Cheyenne (Jerry) DeVore of Midvale, OH, grandson, Brody Dessecker  (fiance Brooke Penrod) of New Philadelphia, and four great-grandchildren Chanel DeVore, Jade DeVore, and Curtis DeVore, all of Midvale, and Barrick Dessecker of New Philadelphia.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday,  October 23, 2021 in the Holmes United Methodist Church with Pastor Roger Warnes officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Calling hours will be held Friday from  4:00 until  7:00 P.M. in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville.  Contributions to honor Linda's memory may be made to the Holmes United Methodist Church, 6438 Holmes Church Road N.E., P.O.
