John Richard Booth Obituary

John R. Booth, age 67, of  Leesville, Ohio, died suddenly on Friday morning,  December 20, 2024 in his residence.

He was born July 27, 1957 in Dennison, Ohio and was the son of  the late William and Ida Mae (Beamer) Booth.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Dolly Hennis and a  grandson, Zachary R. Chaney.

John retired in 2015 from Rosebud Mining Company at Dennison where he was employed for 15 years. He was an active member of Port Washington Masonic Lodge #202.   A devoted outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and he had previously coached youth baseball and basketball.  He was a 1975 graduate of the former Lakeland High School.  He cherished the company of his grandchildren and enthusiastically followed their sports endeavors.  He was a caring husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be missed by his family and friends. 

He is survived by his wife Kimberly J. (Howes) Booth, whom he married August 23, 1975, a daughter, Mrs. Stephanie (Stephen) Chaney of Strasburg, OH and a son, Scott E. (Dani) Booth of Dellroy, OH, two brothers, William (Betty) Booth of Sherrodsville, OH and Jay Booth of Leesville, and two sisters  Mrs. Debbie (Jack) Young of Massillon, OH and Mrs. Mary (Tony) Knight of Cadiz, OH., and four grandchildren.

No public funeral services are scheduled, but the family will observe a private Masonic Service conducted by Lodge #  in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville at a time of their convenience.  To leave an online condolence message please visit the funeral home website.
