Jerry W. Whitehair, age 65, of Massillon, Ohio, passed away Monday night, September 18, 2023 at the Nobles Pond Nursing Facility in Jackson Township following a courageous battle with Inclusion Body Myositis.
He was born on October 7, 1957 in Dover, Ohio, son of the late John and Thelma (Moughiman) Whitehair who resided in Sherrodsville, Ohio.
Jerry was a 1976 graduate of Conotton Valley High School and received his Associates Degree in Computer Science from Stark State Technical College.
He was employed as a technician for the J. A. Conley Company, Diebold, Inc., and the First Merit Bank of Akron, from which he retired.
He was a lifelong fan of Cleveland sports teams as well as the Ohio State Buckeyes and Jackson Polar Bears. His hobbies included such activities as photography, music, and internet research.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son Adam Whitehair of the home, brothers John (Eileen) Whitehair of Alliance, OH, and Mark Whitehair of New Philadelphia, OH, a sister Judy Walters of Sherrodsville, brothers-in-law John Evans and Alan Roudebush, and sister-in-law Nancy Graham. He also enjoyed the company of several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Karen Evans and Diane Roudebush and his brother Jim Whitehair.
At Jerry’s request, there will be no public services. The family will share a Celebration of Life Gathering at a later date. The Baxter-Gardner funeral home at Sherrodsville has been entrusted with arrangements. Friends and family may share condolences on the funeral home website.
