Jenny L. Knight

Jenny L. Knight, age 97, of  Leesville, Ohio, died Monday afternoon, February 27, 2023 in the Bowerston Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center. 

Born August 18, 1925 in Perrysville, Carroll County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Vernon and Mary Frances (Gatschell) Stewart.  Her first husband, Francis O. Nign died July 7, 1979, and her second husband John Harvey Knight,  died February 10, 1995. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by three brothers Alvin Junior Stewart, Harry Stewart, and Jesse Stewart, a daughter, Linda Kay Beatty, and a daughter-in-law, Cathy "Sis" Nign.

She retired in 1976 from the former Scio Pottery Company after more than 20 years of service. Jenny attended the Perrysville United Methodist Church.  A longtime Leesville area resident, she was primarily a homemaker for most of her life.  She enjoyed staying around her home welcoming visits from her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph A. Nign of Leesville and John L. (Blanche) Nign of Bowerston, OH,  six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren,
and sister-in-law Barb Stewart of Perrysville, OH.

A public graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 3, 2023 in the Perrysville Cemetery with Rev. Vicki Muth officiating.  Interment will follow the services. According to her wishes, there will be no calling hours, but her family will observe a private visitation. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home in Sherrodsville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
