Helen and Donald E. Waltz - Together Again

Helen J. Waltz, age 81, of  Midvale, Ohio, died early Tuesday morning, July 16, 2024 in  the Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital at Dover.

She was born January 13, 1943 in Dennison, Ohio and was the daughter of  the late Alfred D. and Mary E. (Tharpe) Scott.  Her husband, Donald Eugene Waltz, whom she married September 16, 1967, passed away on January 23, 2000. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred Scott and Randy L. Scott, two sisters, Dale Bassett and Kaye E. Smalley,  and twin infant siblings.

Helen was employed as the manager of the former Goshen Dairy Store on the Southside of New Philadelphia where she worked for 16 years until the store closed in 2002.  Her primary focus was sharing the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She is survived by a son, Donald B. Waltz of Midvale, OH, granddaughter Kortni Waltz of Uhrichsville, OH and grandson, Zachary (Natasha) Waltz of New Philadelphia, OH, her great-grandchildren Shalea Waltz, Dre' Vonn Searcy, Audrey Draher, Kyleigh Draher, Jada Guerra, and William Waltz,  a sister, Shirley Rosenberry of Roswell, OH, a brother, Jim (Barb) Scott of Strasburg, OH, numerous nieces and nephews, and her best friend for more than 71 years, Bonnie Daugherty.

A private graveside service will be scheduled at a later date in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia where her ashes will be buried next to her husband.
