Gregory A. Elmore, age 65, of Cordova Road S.W., Bowerston, Ohio, died suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.
He was born June 17, 1955 in Dennison, Ohio and was the son of the late Lloyd G. "Giz" and Gayle Meryle Barton Elmore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Rick Elmore and Jeff "Spot" Elmore, and a brother-in-law, Joe McLandsborough.
Greg retired in 2020 after a long career as a truck driver. He attended Conotton Valley High School. Over the years, he loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle across the countryside. He recently obtained a pontoon boat so he could spend quality time with his family. He particularly enjoyed caring for his land around his home. He adored his family and was fond of the simple pleasures that his home and family offered. He had a special connection to his pet Golden-Doodle "Winston". He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and "Uncle Greg" who will be missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife Janellen R. "Jane" Myers Elmore, whom he married September 8, 1985, three daughters, Mrs. Ashley (Eric) Cadle of Uhrichsville, OH, Reanda Elmore of the home, and Mrs. Rikki (Larry) Johnson of Canton, OH, his six grandchildren Zachary (Marissa) Ott of New Philadelphia, OH, Chaselyn Cadle of Massillon, OH, Briar Cadle of Uhrichsville, Makai Mells, Kendric Johnson, and Kellen Johnson, all of Canton, his brother, Tom (Diane) Elmore of Leesville, OH and his sister, Patricia McLandsborough and sister-in-law, LuRae Elmore, both of Sherrodsville, OH, and a large family of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 14, 2021 in the Leesville United Methodist Church, 90 Market Street, Leesville, OH, with Rev. Jerralyn Myers officiating. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. and from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home in Sherrodsville.
