Gilbert "Ray" Burleson

Gilbert "Ray" Burleson, age 61, of  Bowerston, Ohio,  died Tuesday night, February 7, 2023 in the University Hospitals of Cleveland Medical Center.

He was born October 14, 1961 in Canton, Ohio and was the son of  Nell M. (Dugger) Burleson of Bowerston and the late James Gilbert Burleson Jr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother Michael Burleson.

Ray was fond of hunting and fishing and spending his time outdoors.  One of his favorite distractions was riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.  He had a special interest in collecting all types of junk.  Ray loved cats and his special family of five included Pumpkin, Luna, Tick, Boo, and Little Bit. 

Surviving in addition to his mother and his cats are a brother, James Alec (Cathy) Burleson  and a sister Tami Lynn (partner Tonya) Burleson,  all of Bowerston, a son Jason Ray Burleson  and a daughter, Ashley Allison, both of Canton, and his companion, Chrissy Peterson of Carrollton, OH.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, March 4, 2023 in the Leesville United Methodist Church with Pastor Jerralyn Myers officiating. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
