George Ira Davis Jr., age 70, of Sherrodsville, Ohio, died suddenly in his home Thursday, May 6, 2021.
He was born February 14, 1951 in Erie, Pennsylvania and was the son of the late George Ira Davis Sr. and Josephine Emma Imitello Davis. His wife, Patricia Ann Mead Davis, whom he married October 15, 1971, passed away on February 27, 2014. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Karey Fellers, three brothers Leo, Joseph, and Tom Davis, and two sisters Mary Farley and Georgetta Daruda.
He retired in 2009 as an Environmental Safety and Health Auditor for Waste Management, Inc. after 21 years of service. A self-proclaimed amateur carpenter, he spent much of his time working on projects in his garage or tending to his lawn. He was a former collector of model trains.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Stacey L. (Scott) Fraley of Wexford, PA, and Mrs. Michelle (Chris) Davis-Green of Morgantown, WVA, three sisters, Dorothea "Dodie" McDade of Centerville, PA, Mrs. Penny (Mike) Blanco of Conneaut, OH, and Mrs. Ann (Roger) Durlin of Mill Creek, PA, four grandchildren, and close cousin Don (Jay) Weber of Erie, PA.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 P.M., Saturday, May 8, 2021 in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Pastor Dan Parson officiating. Calling hours will be held Saturday, from 1:00 P.M. until time of services at 3:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
