Donald R. Moore II

Donald  R. Moore II, age 71, of  Sherrodsville, Ohio, died suddenly in his residence on Friday, April 4, 2025.

He was born October 7, 1953 in Austin, Texas and was the son of the late Donald Roy and Betty June (Masters) Moore.  

Donnie was a Licensed Practical Nurse who recently retired from Ember Complete Care where he worked as an in-house nurse for a group home in Uhrichsville.  He proudly served his country during the Viet Nam Era as a member of the United States Marine Corps.  He was a former choir director for the Sherrodsville Calvary Church.  Donnie enjoyed walking, music, and trips with his daughter and grandson. He conscientiously donated to various charitable organizations with regularity.  He was a loving father, grandfather and brother who will be missed by his family and friends.  

He is survived by  his daughter  Jessica L. ( husband Jake Kerstetter) Moore of Wooster, OH, a grandson, Kai Kerstetter, also of Wooster, two sisters,  Mrs. Donna (William) Moses of Pataskala, OH, and Linda Roland of Tarpon Springs, FL., and his long-time friend, Kathy Capuano of Beach City, OH.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday,  April 9, 2025 in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville where his family will present prayers and memorial anecdotes.   Interment will follow in the Longview Cemetery at Bowerston where the Carroll County Combined Units of the V.F.W., D.A.V., and American Legion will provide military honors. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until time of services at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Contributions in Donald's memory may be made to the National MS Society, P.O.
