David E. Wojcik, age 67, of Sherrodsville, Ohio, died early Wednesday morning, July 24, 2024 in the Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing at Schroenbrunn following a brief illness.
He was born July 5, 1957 in Dover, Ohio, and was the son of the late Edward F. "Bud" and Martha Elizabeth (Bendure) Wojcik.
David worked in numerous local factories over the years and loved helping his mom in the former Sunset Valley Bakery, which their family owned for many years. He also performed dog-grooming services for more than 19 years. He was a graduate of Conotton Valley High School. David was a kind and generous man who always left a positive impression on everyone he met. He was fond of working outside in his yard. He was well-known for his baking skills, creating wonderful cakes, pies, and dinner rolls. David was extremely fond of animals, most particularly "His Loves", his Husky "Zena" and his German Shepherd "Zarra".
He is survived by his wife Susan D. (Winters) Wojcik, whom he married August 2, 2003, two step-sons, Joshua (Nikki) Metcalf of Dover, OH, and Cody Metcalf of Bolivar, OH, and his four grandchildren Madilyn E. Metcalf of Canton, OH, Jaden E. Metcalf of Dover, Jamisen Metcalf of Bolivar, and Aerowyn Metcalf of Canton.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, July 29, 2024 in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Rev. Jerralyn Myers officiating. Interment will follow in the Leesville Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday from 11:00 A.M. until time of services at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
