Daryl A. Kearns

Daryl A. Kearns, age 79, of Bowerston, Ohio, died suddenly Friday afternoon, March 19, 2021 in the Trinity Hospital Twin City at Dennison.

He was born October 27, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio, and was the son of the late Georg E. and Margaret Speziale Kearns.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gerald E. "Jerry" Kearns, who died April 24, 1990, and a brother, Cyril Kearns.

Daryl was an electronics technician who had worked in the vending business prior to his retirement. He thrived while spending an abundance of time in his 26 acres of wooded property at his home.  He enjoyed meticulously caring for his land, keeping his woods clear and healthy to provide the hundreds of chords of firewood that he cut over the decades to provide heat for his home. His other passions included shooting pool, and traveling extensively with his wife Sharon, whereby they were fortunate to visit many "amazing places" together.  He took joy in using his skills to repair virtually anything electrical or mechanical. Daryl was also especially proud of his extensive vegetable gardens.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose presence will be missed by his family. 

He is survived by his wife Sharon C. Roberts Kearns, whom he married in 1964, two sons, Steven (Sharie) Kearns of Fort Myers, FL and Darin (Jennifer) Kearns of Shreve, OH, his seven grandchildren Mrs. Christina (Adam) Porter of Cadiz, OH, Lauren Kearns of Orem, Utah, Jacob Kearns of American Fork, Utah, Ian Kearns of Fort Myers, Sean Kearns of Daniel Island, South Carolina, and Corbin Titler and Caitlin Titler, both of Shreve, and a great-granddaughter, Addilyn Porter of Cadiz.

Funeral services, officiated by his family, will be conducted  at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, March 27, 2021 in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville.
