Danny J. Cooper, age 43, of rural Newcomerstown, Ohio, died Monday afternoon, April 2, 2018 in the Community Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia with his family by his side.
He was born May 30, 1974 in Cleveland, Ohio and was the son of John (step-mother Darlene) Cooper of Parma, OH and Alice M. Cartney Cooper of Stone Creek, OH. He was preceded in death by his step-father James D'Ambrosia, a brother John W. Cooper, and a sister Roselee Cooper.
Danny worked at various jobs, most recently in quality control at Express Packing, Inc. at Newcomerstown. A skilled woodworker, he was adept at sanding and refinishing, a talent he utilized to make useful items for his family. He and his wife were fond of spending time fishing at Salt Fork Lake and in the Tuscarawas River near their home. He also enjoyed swimming, camping and exhibited enthusiasm for collecting and recycling.
He is survived by his wife Annemarie E. Cooper, whom he married September 30, 2012, three step-sons, Thomas W. (Heather) Thompson of Newcomerstown, and Andrew T. (Lisa) Thompson and Steven R. Thompson, both of West Lafayette, OH, two sisters April M. Cooper of Stone Creek and Sarah Rose Cooper of Columbus, OH, two step-sisters, Patricia Slovinsky and Tammy Hupcej, both of Cleveland, OH, a niece Rain Wilson and a nephew Caleb Wilson, both of Stone Creek, and his canine companion, his dachshund "Cookie".
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville. No calling hours are scheduled.
