Connie L. Lake

Connie L. Lake, age 81, of  Bolivar, Ohio, died Wednesday morning, February 8, 2023 in her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 23, 1941 in Bowerston, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Helen (Price) Rippeth.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Rippeth.

She was a 1959 graduate of Conotton Valley High School and a faithful member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bowerston where she played the organ for more than 50 years.  Connie retired from the Conotton Valley High School where she was employed as a secretary for 30 years. Following her retirement from the school, she worked as the office manager for Dr. Stephen Gombos for 12 years.  She was also a former volunteer at both Union Hospital in Dover and the Mercy Medical Center at Canton. She welcomed any opportunity to baby sit her great-grandchildren, and as an enthusiastic sports fan, took joy in attending all of their sporting and school events. She enjoyed vacationing, but her particular joy came from spending time with her family.  A loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be missed by her family and many friends.. 

She is survived by her husband Doyle Lake, whom she married June 20, 1959, a daughter, Deanna (Lake) Webb  and a granddaughter, Natasha (Webb) (husband Scott) Benson, all of Bolivar,  two twin great-grandchildren, Kadyn and Kenzy Benson, a brother Jerry (Toni) Rippeth of Bowerston,  two sisters-in-law Regena Fishley and Tana Lake, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins,  and her loyal and devoted dog Chase.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday February 11, 2023  in the Trinity United Methodist Church, located at 209 Main Street in Bowerston with her nephew Mr. Steve Rippeth officiating.  Calling hours will be held Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until time of services at 1:00 P.M. in the church.
