Cecil Leroy Anno, Sr

Cecil Leroy Anno, Sr., age 67, a Bowerston resident died Wednesday night December 22, 2010 in Union Hospital at Dover after a long struggle with diabetes.

He was born August 9, 1943 in Canton, O. and was the son of the late Cecil and Margarette Clark Anno. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne E. Abel Anno, who died April 29, 1996, one brother Ed Anno, and a grandson Terry Anno.

Leroy was retired from the Bowerston Shale Company after 20 years service. He, along with his late wife were foster parents for children of Tuscarawas and Harrison Counties for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam era. He found quiet moments drawing and sketching. His outdoor activities included fishing, coaching softball and he had coached the Bowerston Gold Cubs Little League team.

He is survived by six children, Mrs. Don (Jeannie) Shuss of Bowerston, O., Mrs. Jerry (Wendy E.) Dotson of Leesville, O., Amanda Anno of Cross Lanes, West Virginia, Cecil Leroy ( J.R.) Anno, Jr. of Dover, O., Travis Lee Anno of Cuyahoga Falls, O., and Dustin James  "D.J." Anno of Leesville, six grandchildren, Santana  Shuss  and Dakota Shuss both of Bowerston,  Jerry Dotson, Jr. and Kyle Dotson both of Leesville, Cassidy Anno of Uhrichsville, O., and Clayton Wall of Cross Lanes, WVa, three brothers Richard Anno of North Versailles, PA, Howard (Lois) Anno of Midvale, O., and Robert "Bob" Anno of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and one sister Mrs. Earl (Shirley) Davidson of Freeport, O.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00AM Wednesday, December 29, 2010 in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Rev. Milo Baker officiating.  Interment will follow in the Longview Cemetery at Bowerston where the combined units of the Carroll County American Legion, V.F.W., and  D.A.V. will perform military graveside services.
