Audrey Norma Griffiths

Audrey Norma Griffiths, age 84,  passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Cleveland Clinic on Tuesday morning, 23rd February 2016, following a brief illness.

Audrey lived with her family in Bolivar, Ohio, but was born 18th January 1932 in Godreaman, Aberdare, South Wales, where she lived all of her life until August, 2010, when she came to Ohio with her family.  

She was the only child of Gilbert and Mattie Thomas Batten of 32 Pleasant View Street, Godreaman, Aberdare and loving wife to Ted Griffiths,  whom she married on 22nd June 1957 and who passed away August, 1995.

Loving mother to Kathryn and her husband Tim Cooper of Bolivar, O., and devoted grandmother to Luke, Daniel, and Kate O'Callaghan.

Audrey attended Aberdare Girls Grammar School and worked as a wages clerk at Aberdare Cables, where she met Ted.  She later worked for the National Coal Board. She was a member of Mothers Union and attended St. Margaret's Church in Aberaman, Aberdare.

She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends in Wales and her family in Ohio.

Memorial Services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Rev. Doug Mallernee officiating. An additional Memorial Service will be held in Wales at a future date.  Interment of her ashes will ultimately take place at the Llwydcoed Crematorium,  Aberdare, South Wales.
