Anna O. Dunn Dale, age 86, of Mineral City (New Cumberland), Ohio, died Wednesday morning, December 29, 2021 in the Mercy Medical Center at Canton, Ohio following a sudden illness.
She was born June 21, 1935 in Howenstine in southern Stark County, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Daniel Frances "Frank" and O. Lena McNutt Shaner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first Husband, Roosevelt "R. G." Dunn, who died April 18, 1982, her second husband, John A. Dale, who died May 22, 2013, a daughter, Debra Lynn Dunn, a grandson, Alex Michael McKenzie, and a brother Delmar Shaner.
She was a faithful member of the Trinity Gospel Temple in Canton, Ohio and was a 1953 graduate of the former East Sparta High School. She retired as an inspector from T.R.W. (P.C.C. Airfoils) at Minerva, OH in 1997 after 34 1/2 years of service. She spent numerous hours volunteering at both her church and the Hennis Care Center in Bolivar. She made an effort to stay active and visited the YMCA each week. In her quiet hours, she enjoyed reading and "Word Search" puzzles. Some of Anna's unique experiences included three trips to Israel, which she classified as the "time of her life". A loving and attentive mother and grandmother, she will be missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Darla Renee Dunn of Canton, OH, Mrs. Denise F (Danny) McKenzie of Mineral City (New Cumberland), her four grandchildren Jeremy Dunn, Lindsay Miller, .
Brittany Waldrop, and Amanda McKenzie, her five great-grandchildren Jaden "Nick" Miller, Emma Dunn, Zoey Dunn, Atticus Mead, and Addy Jo Edwards, two step-daughters, Judith Russell of Dover, OH and Janet Gopp of New Philadelphia, OH, two brothers, Eldon (Rena) Shaner of Monroe, Michigan and Glenn (Mary) Shaner of Carrollton, OH, and two sisters Mary Kronmiller and Mrs. Arvella (John) Carpenter, both of Canton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 3, 2022 in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Pastor Michael Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the New Cumberland Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday, January 2 from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
