Adda Jane Cyrus, age 82, formerly of Mineral City, Ohio, (Zoarville area), died December 21, 2022 in Spokane, Washington.
She was born September 24, 1940 in East Lynn, West Virginia and was the daughter of the late Dewey and Mary Ann (Watts) Miller . Her husband, Minnis E. Cyrus, Sr, died June 9, 1991. in addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Hobert L. "Hobe" Cyrus, and Basil Cyrus, a grandson, Pvt. David Scott McCamant, three brothers, Winfield "Corky" Miller, Scott Miller, and Dennis Miller, and three sisters, Malta Tincher, Rhonda Sue Scott, and Patty Arner.
Adda was primarily a homemaker who was very adept at canning and preserving food for her family. She commonly volunteered at the Dover food Pantry and enjoyed growing flowers around her home.
She is survived by her children Mrs. Ruby (Bill) McCamant III of Mineral City, OH, Vincent Scott (Mindy) Cyrus, Mrs. Rebecca J. (David A.) McCamant of Spokane, Washington, Minnis E. Cyrus, Jr. of Irvington, Kentucky, and Leroy (Shaunna) Cyrus, a brother and three sisters Carl Miller of Wooster, OH, Mrs. Grace (Curtis) Wallace of Fort Gay, West Virginia, Donna Miller of West Virginia, and Mrs. Gwynell (Ted) Davis of South Carolina, her seven grandchildren Billie Jo, William, Crystal, Jason, Adam, Astara, and Minnis III, her 15 great-grandchildren Chris, Jay, Heather, Marissa, Nicole, Dava Jane, Lily, Ethan, Damion, Serenity, Draxin, Edward, Everest, Noah, and Grayson, and her two great-great-grandchildren William and Bentley.
A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 9, 2023 with Pastor Larry Stitt officiating in the New Cumberland Cemetery.
