Nikkiah Marriea Niccole Swihart

Nikkiah Marriea Niccole Swihart, age 9, of  Dover, Ohio died Monday afternoon, March 27, 2017 in the Union Hospital Emergency Room at Dover surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 22, 2007 in Dover, and was the daughter of  Alicia S. (Lewis) and Jeffery "Adam" Hauenstein with whom she resided and Thomas Swihart of Port Washington, O. She was preceded in death by an uncle Timmy Swihart.

Nikkiah attended Starlight School.  She was fascinated by music and lights.  Her room was always decorated with lights and she had a fondness for country music. She loved bright colors in all things.  Nikkiah's bright and beautiful smile was infectious, and would light up any room she inhabited. 

In addition to her parents and step-father,  she is survived by four brothers, Noah Medley, Ethan Hauenstein,  Austin Hauenstein, and Jesse Black, all of  Dover,   grandparents Mary Black of Uhrichsville, Rich and Leesa  McNatt of Akron, O., John Jones of Gnadenhutten, O., Tim Swihart of Port Washington, and Lanny and Patty Strawser of Dover, several aunts Mrs. Corey Antoinette "Tia" Stout of Dover, and Jessica and Cherise Rogers-Blose of Columbus, O.

Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 P.M. Sunday, April 2, 2017 in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Lanny Strawser officiating. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2:00 until time of services at 4:00 P.M. in the funeral home. By family request, anyone attending the calling hours or service are invited to wear bright clothing as a tribute to Nikkiah. Also, if anyone desires to send flowers,  please request live outdoor plants and flowers so that they may be used to plant a memorial garden in her honor.  Memorial contributions for the benefit of the family may be sent in care of the funeral home.
