Kathie D. Hawkins

Kathie D. Hawkins, age 62, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, died Tuesday afternoon, April 3, 2018 in the Amberwood Manor at New Philadelphia following a lengthy battle with cancer.

She was born August 25, 1955 in Dover, Ohio and was the daughter of  the late William Walter and Helen Devore Harig.  Her husband Larry A. Hawkins, whom she married June 24, 1973, passed away on November 24, 2014. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Skinner and her father-in-law and mother-in-law Basil and Bessie Bonisolli.

Kathie was primarily a homemaker whose primary focus was her grandchildren. She was a thoughtful and caring mother and grandmother who will be missed by her family. 

She is survived by three daughters Mrs. Heather L. (Jason) Rennicker of New Philadelphia, Frances Hawkins, and Mrs. Billie (Jason) Dotson of Scio, OH, a sister Barb Laizure of Uhrichsville, OH, and her grandchildren Zachary (Natasha) Waltz of New Philadelphia, Preston Stocker of Dennison, OH, and Chloe Dotson of Scio, OH, and her great-grandchildren Sophia Ann, William Allen, and Zaiah Marie, and a large family of nieces and nephews.

No formal funeral services or calling hours are scheduled. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville is handling arrangements. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County,  716 Commercial Avenue S.W.,  New Philadelphia, Ohio  44663.
