Joshua Ray Hooper

Joshua Ray Hooper, age 35,  formerly of Sherrodsville, Ohio, died suddenly in his home on Thursday morning, October 6, 2016 .

He was born September 9, 1981 in Dover, Ohio and was the son of Linda G. Baker Arnold of Uhrichsville, Ohio and the late Donald Ray Hooper.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, an uncle, an aunt, and  a step-brother.

Josh was a man of many talents who operated heavy equipment for many years.  He had just began his new career path as a recent hiree of Lauren Manufacturing at New Philadelphia. Those who knew and had the opportunity to work alongside Josh often commented on the effort and enthusiasm he brought to his work. He attended Conotton Valley High School and The Buckeye Career Center where he made some of his most meaningful and lifelong friendships. Josh will always be remembered for the bright, playful smile he always had on his face. 

In addition to his mother Linda Arnold, he is survived by his step-father Joe Arnold of Uhrichsville, his step-mother,  Mrs.Trina Fawcett Hooper of Wainwright, O.,   the daughter who was the love of his life Lyric Faith Hooper of Hauchuca City, Arizona, two sisters Tracy Baker (whom he always referred to as "Sissy") of New Philadelphia and Mrs.Tammy Hooper (Husband Eric) Dearing of Las Vegas, Nevada, two step-sisters Mrs. Chantel ( Husband Keith) Graham and Mrs. Rachelle (Husband Tony) Lynch, both of Gnadenhutten, O., numerous nieces and nephews,  many cousins and an array of close friends.

A Memorial Service will be conducted  at 5:00 P.M., Monday, October 10, 2016 in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Rev. Milo Baker officiating.  Calling hours will be held Monday from 3:00 P.M. until time of services at 5:00 P.M.  in the funeral home.  To leave an online condolence message please visit the funeral home website.
