Gene E. Richardson

Gene E. Richardson , age 55, of  Sherrodsville, Ohio,  died  Friday night, December 30, 2016 in Union Hospital at Dover following a one-month illness.

He was born August 29, 1961 in Fort Worth, Texas and was the son of  the late LeRoy and Betty Joe McCloud Richardson.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Janet Brookshire.

Gene was employed as a truck driver for more than 20 years for Shelly Co. (formerly Quality Block and Supply, Inc.) at New Philadelphia, Ohio.  He was a very hard worker, but he was a family man, so his leisure time was virtually always spent in their company. 

He is survived by his companion of 13 years, Tonya Huff of Sherrodsville,  two sons Dustin L. (Jenn) Richardson of Weatherford, Texas and Brandon G. Richardson of New Philadelphia,  a step-son  Ricky Byrd of Sherrodsville,  a brother, Larry (Julia) Richardson of Glenrose, Texas and a sister Mrs. Betty (Jimmie) Herrera of Fort Worth,  five grandchildren  Zakery Kale Richardson,  Haeven Danielle Richardson, Hadyn Lee Richardson, and Gavin Kole Richardson, all of Weatherford, Texas and Layla Byrd of Sherrodsville.

In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated and his ashes will be returned to Texas for burial with his family.
