Gail Ann Winter

Gail Ann Winter,  age 66, of Sykesville,  Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.

She was born July 12, 1951 in Massillon, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late William Anthony  "Tony" and Alice M. (Cecil)Vittling.
On December 20, 1993 she became the wife of William Joseph Winter.  He survives and resides in Sykesville.

Gail was an EMT and served on the Sykesville Ambulance from 1999-2015.  She loved working with the crew and helping others in need. Gail and her husband Bill were also members of the Sykesville Ambulance Board of Directors.  When Gail still lived in Ohio, she was an active volunteer for Sherrodsville E.M.S.   She was a 1970 graduate of Conotton Valley High School.  Her enjoyments were crossword puzzles and browsing on her tablet.

In addition to her husband Bill, she is survived by a daughter,  Mrs. Elaine (Bill) Chewning of Strasburg, OH,  and step-children Traci Winter and Kevin Roof of East Sparta, OH,  Mrs. Ronni (Brad) Hadden of Boliver, OH,  William “Joe” Winter Jr and Laura Bittaker of Dellroy, OH and Daryl (Donna) Winter of Willoughby, OH,  10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and two sisters, Frances Vittling of Sherrodsville, OH and Sally Lindsey of Ashville, SC. 

A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 8, 2018  in the Sherrodsville Memorial Gardens, where her ashes will be interred.  As per her wishes there will be no visitation.  Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run, Pennsylvania and the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home in Sherrodsville, Ohio.
Memorial donations may be made in Gail’s memory to the Sykesville Ambulance, PO Box 31, Sykesville, PA  15865.
