Dorothy P. Hidey, age 80, of 9198 Deacon Road S.W., Bowerston (New Hagerstown), Ohio, died Monday afternoon, April 2, 2018 in her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born April 21, 1937 in Zoarville, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Thomas Glenwood and Florence Elizabeth Brady Felgenhauer. Her late husband, Robert Louis Hidey, Sr., whom she married June 12, 1955, died January 18, 2016. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Jean Carter and two brothers Gale Felgenhauer and Tommy Lee Felgenhauer.
She was a former employee of the Scio Pottery, worked as a cook at Dave's Diner in Sherrodsville for 16 years, and was a banquet room employee of the former Atwood Lake Lodge. Dorothy's primary interest was the care and concern for her family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter Mrs. Robin (Dave) Leggett of Carrollton, OH and two sons, Robert Louis (Barbara) Hidey Jr. of Berlin, Germany and Rusty T. Hidey of Bowerston, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and her eight sisters and brothers Mrs. Beverly Westbury of New Philadelphia, OH, Mrs. Eileen Mitchell of Coshocton, OH, Mrs. Eunice (Hayes) Wisman of Mineral City, OH, Rex (Connie) Felgenhauer of Scio, OH, Opal (James) Watkins of Canton, OH, Mrs. Donna Sell of Sherrodsville, OH, Paul (Irene) Felgenhauer of New Philadelphia, and Mrs. Linda Myers of Streetsboro, Ohio.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 14, 2018 in the Leesville United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerralyn Myers officiating. No calling hours are scheduled.
