Danny L. Baer

Danny L. Baer, age 83, of Leesville, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday evening, March 7, 2018 following a brief illness.

He was born May 24, 1934 in Massillon, Ohio and was the son of  the late Cloyd Ellsworth and Reba Muriel Ashworth Baer.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by  a son, Danny Michael Baer, two brothers Carl and Robert Baer, and a sister, Beverly Baer.

Danny was a self-employed Auto Rebuilder, a trade he specialized in for most of his life.  He was a U.S. Army veteran and a 1952 graduate of Conotton Valley High School where he had the distinction of being the school's first quarterback. He attended the Leesville Faith Community Chapel. Danny served his community as a former member of the Leesville Village Council and was  past president of the Green Valley Ruritan organization. He was a seasonal hunter and fisherman, enjoyed playing cards, and was an accomplished cook. He will be missed by his family and many friends. 

He is survived by his wife Patsy Lightell Baer, whom he married June 22, 1958, two daughters, Dana Campos of Nashville, TN,  and Mrs. Sharon (James) Crossnoe of Mt. Juliet, TN, his six grandchildren Wesley (Ashley) McCubbin of Nashville, TN, Daniel (Rachael) Baer of Kansas City, MO, Lee (Heather) Baer of Louisburg, KS, Tasha Baer of Harrisonville, MO, Romario Campos of Nashville, TN, and Reba Campos of Bellevue, TN,  his six great-grandchildren Elias Campos Gonzalez,  Alyssia Campos, Delylah Campos, Landon Baer, Hudson Baer, and Ryekin Wiltscheck,   a brother Richard (Maxine) Baer of Midvale, OH and a sister Janice Hall of Dublin, OH, and two sisters-in-law Ann Baer of Minerva, OH and Mary Jo Baer of Nashville, TN.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in the Leesville Faith Community Chapel with Pastor Doug McFadden officiating.  Interment will follow in the Leesville Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M.  at the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home in Sherrodsville.  Contributions in Danny's memory may be made to the Leesville Faith Community Chapel, 145 S.
