Bonnie L. Feldner, age 82, of Scio, Ohio, died peacefully early Thursday morning, March 22, 2018 in the Community Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia following a brief illness.
She was born July 31, 1935 in Belle Valley, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Ezra Ray and Marybelle Kirkbride Bates. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde R. Bates.
Bonnie was a former STNA, and had retired from the Sunnyslope Care Center at Bowerston where she worked in the kitchen and laundry departments. Bonnie generally led a quiet and simple life where she enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. She had a passion for reading books, and also enjoyed the peaceful simplicity of sitting outside and enjoying nature. She was known to her family as a collector of many meaningful treasures. Bonnie loved her two dachshunds Pete and Sam, and found great joy in spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband Donald F. Feldner, whom she married December 7, 1956, a daughter Mrs. Dona (Paul) Slutz of Bowerston, a son Donald Philip "Phil" (Loretta) Feldner of Jacksonville, Florida, her six grandchildren Aaron Oyler of Dennison, OH, Mrs. Renee (Sean) White of Shinglehouse, PA, Thomas (Ashlee) Slutz of Bowerston, Sabrina Slutz of West Lafayette, OH, Samantha Slutz of New Philadelphia, OH, and Serina Slutz of Dover, OH, ten great-grandchildren, two brothers, Tommie Bates of North Canton, OH and Dannie (Colleen) Bates of Senecaville, OH, and a sister, Mrs. Kathy (Robert) Schebrum of Fulton, Missouri.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 26, 2018 in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Rev. Jerralyn Myers officiating. Interment will follow in the Leesville Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
