Wreitha Ross, 64, of Akron passed away peacefully, at her daughter’s home on February 28, 2017 following a brief illness. She was born November 9, 1952 in Pekin, Illinois to the late Edward and Vera Foster. Wreitha grew up in Canal Fulton and was a graduate of Northwest High School and along with her brother she owned and operated AW Metals in Barberton. Wreitha was remarkably industrious and was not afraid of hard work. She often loved to travel to various wineries with her friends and enjoyed completing word puzzles. When presented with an opportunity to do so, Wrietha was always eager to help others. Wreitha was a supportive wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who loved her family unconditionally and will be missed by all who knew her.
Wreitha was preceded in death by her best friend Debbie Kissner. She is survived by her husband, Craig Ross, whom she married October 11, 1980; son Jon Ross; daughter, Wendy (Erik) Kaman; grandchildren, James, Brooklyn and Jeremy; brothers, Allan "Ed" (Beverly) Foster and Roger (Colleen) Foster as well as many other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7 P.M. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319 with Pastor Darryl Moulder officiating. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 5 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsvillle handled the cremation arrangements.
