Robert L. (Sr.) Hidey

Robert L. Hidey, Sr., age 80, of 9198 Deacon Road S.W, Bowerston, Ohio,  died  Monday afternoon, January 18, 2016 in Salem Regional Medical Center at Salem, Ohio.

He was born July 7, 1935 in Conotton, Ohio and was the son of  the late George Emerson and Pearl Blanche Trushel Hidey .  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

He retired from the former Baker Highway Express in Dover and had been a truck driver for most of his life.  Bob enjoyed the outdoors and liked to spend his spare time both hunting and fishing. Additionally, he was always involved in performing numerous mechanical repairs. 

He is survived by his wife Dorothy P. Felgenhauer Hidey, whom he married June 12, 1955, a daughter Mrs. Dave (Robin) Leggett of Carrollton, O. and two sons, Robert Louis (Barbara) Hidey Jr. of Berlin, Germany,  and Rusty T. Hidey of Bowerston, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be observed 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 20, 2016 in the Leesville United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerralyn Myers officiating with a fellowship gathering in the church social hall following services. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville is handling arrangements.
