She was born April 17, 1930 in Dellroy, Ohio and was the daughter of the late  Wilbur Beltram and Sylvia Moreland McCarty.  On October 27, 1948, she married her husband Woodrow "Woody" Gaines who passed away on August 6, 1999. She was the recipient of the Dellroy Volunteer Fire Department's Citizenship Award in 2012.  A loving and caring mother and grandmother, her family claims that she was always "Large and in Charge".
