George F. Straight , age 58, of  Sherrodsville ,Ohio,  formerly of Batesville, Indiana, died Sunday night, June 4, 2017 in the Community Hospice Truman House.

He was a former sheet metal mechanic who worked for Moore Metal in Charleston, South Carolina for 13 years.  He was a member of the Batesville (Indiana) United Methodist Church. As a young man, George had an affection for attending fairs and carnivals. He enjoyed it enough that he traveled for awhile as a "carnie" running a Skee-Ball game. His most relaxing entertainment was tent camping with his family, and was fond of going to the beach. In his travels, George found it impossible to not stop at a yard sale. His last passion in life was to get the Alco Services, LLC center in New Philadelphia operating so he could spend time with the resident children.

He is survived by his wife  Linda Kay Powell Straight of Batesville, whom he married March 12, 1994,  a son, George Clifton Straight and a daughter, Allison Jane Straight, both of  Batesville, three brothers, Richard Straight formerly of Kilgore, O.,  James (Shelly) Straight of Malvern, O., and Robert Straight of Sherrodsville,  and seven sisters, Nancy (Arthur) Radford of Meadow Bridge, West Virginia, Joyce (David) Giles of Middlebourne, West Virginia, Dolly Pelley of Carrollton, O.,  Laura (Louis) Stern of Wasolo, Missouri, Cynthia (Paul) Livengood of Kilgore, and Betty (Brian) Wells  and Alice (Patrick) Cooper, both of Sherrodsville.
