Elizabeth A. "Liz" DeLancey , age 72, of 1218 S. Washington Street, Sherrodsville, Ohio, died Monday afternoon, June 13, 2016 in her residence.
She was born January 31, 1944 in Sistersville, West Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Nina Lee Smith Garner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Herbert L. "Herb" DeLancey, who died December 29, 2010.
She was a retired employee of the former Atwood Lake Lodge where she worked in the laundry department for more than 20 years. She enjoyed spending her free time reading and watching television. Liz was always a hard worker who cared tirelessly for her family. She will be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her two daughters Penny L. Rainsberger of Dellroy, Ohio and Tamara Straight and her fiancé Aaron McNutt of Dellroy, and her two grandchildren Tyler L. DeLancey and Mia Lynn DeLancey, both of Dellroy, Robert Straight, and numerous cousins.
According to her wishes, Liz's remains have been cremated and no funeral services are currently scheduled. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville is handling arrangements. To leave an online condolence message please visit the funeral home website.
